Booking Process

Any booking form submitted after 16.00 hours will not be processed until the following working day (Monday – Friday) and therefore classed as a next day submission. A minimum of 72 hours NOTICE, Monday to Friday is necessary in order to ensure a trained Appropriate Adult can be engaged.

SAAVS members will only attend where a police officer is on hand to meet with them, to provide a briefing and to supervise the introduction to the interviewee. SAAVS volunteers are not permitted to take responsibility for young people whilst attending these appointments. This remains the responsibility of the police.

    Forms submitted after 16:00 on a Friday will not be processed until the following working day.
    SAAVS are unable to provide Appropriate Adults for VA interviews between 08:00 - 10:00 and 16:00 - 18:30 hours Monday to Friday due to heavy traffic at these times. However, they will continue to provide support during these hours at weekends when they are given sufficient notice. SAAVS office will respond to each request during normal office hours Monday to Friday and provide confirmation of a trained SAAVS member’s availability as soon as possible. Please provide at least 72 hours notice in order to be able to supply as required.
